Saarbrücken Airport offers passengers with disabilities and passengers with reduced mobility an assistance service in accordance with EU Regulation No. 1107/2006.
The following international classifications will help you determine the degree of your limitation yourself:
BLND (Blind):
The passenger is blind or visually impaired.
DEAF (Deaf):
The passenger is deaf or hearing impaired.
BLND-DEAF (Blind-deaf):
The passenger is blind and deaf.
DPNA (Disabled Passenger with intellectual or developmental disability needing assistance):
Passengers with mental disabilities or learning difficulties who require assistance.
WCHC (Wheelchair Cabin Seat):
The passenger always needs a wheelchair. Even on the plane, he cannot move without assistance. He carries his own wheelchair.
WCHS (Wheelchair Steps):
The passenger cannot climb stairs, but can walk short distances.
WCHR (Wheelchair Ramp):
As a rule, the passenger does not need a wheelchair or only to cover longer distances. He can climb stairs independently.
Note: When traveling with a battery-powered wheelchair, please notify the airline directly of the type of battery used during the booking process.
Gel and dry batteries can remain in the wheelchair, but the batteries must be secured and disconnected and the poles insulated. For safety reasons, special measures are required for wheelchairs with wet battery operation. Please check with the airline.
